Take your sewing to the next level with personalized, one-on-one lessons. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to master advanced techniques, we offer tailored sessions to suit your needs. Our fully equipped studio in Shepton Mallet provides the perfect setting for focused, uninterrupted support to help you build your skills and achieve your sewing goals.
Skill Based Sessions
For skill based sessions we’ll focus on one thing. This could be anything from sewing machine basics through to couture finishes. Let us know what you’d like to cover and we’ll do an intensive session on that skill.
Example skills:
- Machine skills (including overlockers – learn to love your sewing machine!)
- Zips and zip finishing (dress zips, open zips, concealed zips, lapped openings, exposed opening etc)
- Buttonholes (1-step buttonholes, 4 step buttonholes, buttonholes without a machine pre-set, bound buttonholes)
- Pattern alterations (adjusting a commercial pattern to fit you)
- Pattern drafting (creating your own patterns and designs)
- Seam finishes (plain, bound, French etc)
Project Based Sessions
Project based session are ideal if you want to work on something specific. These sessions are usually on going. Whether you want to start from scratch or have our help throughout the project this is the perfect type of session.
Example projects:
- Creating a garment from a commercial pattern
- Creating a garment from a concept including pattern drafting
- Re-styling an old garment
- Copying your favourite ready to wear item, pattern work and creation
We’re also able to help and advise on fabric selection for your projects.
Don’t forget we also specialise in bespoke occasion wear and bridal. Have you ever wanted to make your own evening gown or wedding accessories? This is your opportunity to create something extra special.
These sessions can be booked by the hour. Bookings of 1, 2 or 3 hours are done as block bookings and cannot be split.

If you have a project in mind that you want to work on, bring along your own materials. If you’re following a store brought pattern and are unsure what to purchase, just drop us a message and we’ll help you with your selection.
For skill based session we may be able to provide materials from the studio, so do check with us first.
